H&H Color Lab targets increased market share with Taopix
Missouri pro photo lab, H&H Color Lab, has announced the imminent launch of its new album design and job submission tool for photographers.
The software, H&H Velocity, is built on the Taopix white-label platform and is designed to simplify the entire album design and ordering process for H&H Color Lab’s customers.
The decision to launch with Taopix came about after extensive research into the buying habits of clients.
Christina Boda, Creative Director, says “We sent out a questionnaire to all of our customers asking for feedback. We wanted to find out what they liked and didn’t like about our current range as well as what new products they would like us to offer. We also wanted to find out why they were ordering certain products from us but using another lab for their albums.”
“The responses were overwhelming; they wanted easy to use album design software that also allowed them to submit jobs quickly and seamlessly to us. They also wanted pre-made layouts and a user-friendly interface. Most of our customers are having to use Photoshop or InDesign and manage spread JPEGs which is not very user-friendly. This also means that we face challenges at the lab when we try to correct all the images together. Taopix will help us overcome all these challenges and so far, the feedback has been fantastic.”
“I’ve worked with lots of different software over the years and was a wedding photographer myself, so I know how challenging software can be. What I really like about Taopix is the sheer number of features and functions that make album design so much easier. Simple options such as switching to black and white in a single click, straighten horizon, fixed edge effects, masks into borders, gradients and textures are all possible.”
“I’m so in love with Taopix. If our customers ask about switching products mid-way through the design process, we can say yes, of course, you can do that!”
“For me, it’s all about our customers being able to save time; I want to give them back to their families! If they want to make their own layouts, masks and scrapbook items to reuse at a later date, our software will allow them to do that.”
Taopix Commercial Director, Steffen Haaga, adds “We’re really looking forward to the launch of Velocity. Christina and her team have done an amazing job with our software and the Designer has a really elegant, modern and professional look and feel. Because of their background and experience, they’ve really captured the needs of the photographer and created an application, full of beautifully designed products, that delivers on ease of use as well as functionality.”
